11 Aim High team members spent a week at KAA
(Kids Across America) camp.
In 1978, Joe White of Kanakuk Kamps, Inc., the largest family of Christian sports camps in America, started giving the last week of Kamp in the summer to serve the camping needs of urban youth. Eventually the demand for a camp dedicated to serving urban youth and inner-city adult leaders became so great that the first Kids Across America Kamp was built. in Missouri.
The number of young people and inner-city leaders served has grown every year.
As the numbers of young people and leaders served through the camps has grown,
KAA has also grown in the scope of support services.
KAA 1 is an amazing place.
Campers are challenged spiritually and given practical ways
to live out their faith back in their communities.
This is done through daily Bible studies, church services, and faith building talks.
The KAA 1 experience is outrageous fun with a healthy dose of encouragement.
Campers leave knowing they truly can do all things through Christ, who strengthens them.
On the 4th of July, George Washington visited camp
and shared a patriotic message!
