Here's a look back at Gold Medal Night 2013:

Betty Okino DeVere and her husband Jacob
came from California!

Betty was a wonderful MC.
She made history in 1992
by becoming the first African American female
to win an Olympic medal in gymnastics.
Today Betty pursues her other dream, acting.

Coach Elizabeth is shown here with Betty's Olympic medal.

The ballroom at the Wyndham

Delicious foods from several of Tulsa's finest restaurants
were enjoyed:

We love our auctioneer, Tommy Williams!

One of the live auction items: Lexi, a puggle!

One of the live auction tables...
Items included use of a suite for an OSU football game,
 2 Thunder tickets and dinner,
and an Adrian Peterson Most Valuable Player signed and framed art piece.

One of the silent auction tables

Silent auction items included a Duck Dynasty basket.

Meet our Wednesday Night Front Desk Volunteers

"Volunteering is intended to promote goodness
or improve human quality of life"
(according to one encyclopedia).

Meet our Wednesday night front desk volunteers:

KELLI STONE
A busy mom of two, Kelli works as a recruiter for professional engineers.
Kelli loves to read and play golf.
Her favorite food is filet mignon and her favorite holiday is Christmas.
Kelli's daughter, Taylor, has been a student at Aim High for 4 years.
If she could travel anywhere, she would probably go to Europe.
Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16:

JENNA BRENNAN

She learned about Aim High from an article in Tulsa People magazine
and now has 4 girls enrolled in the our program:
Anna, Kara, Autumn, and Lizzy.
Jenna's favorite movie is Braveheart
and one of her favorite Bible verses is Proverbs 4:23:

We love all of our volunteers!

Thank you, Jenna and Kelli,
for all you do to help Aim High Academy
serve our kids!
Each of you is a blessing.

PRAYERWALK and DEDICATION

Over one hundred supporters came to our Prayerwalk and Dedication Ceremony,
which was held on Thursday, August 22nd.
We are thankful for the many people
who believe in the mission of Aim High!
It was wonderful to be able to give this
preview of our new facility!

Jennifer Patterson,
Executive Director and Founder of Aim High,
spoke to those in attendance.

We are excited to see what God will do in this place!

A big
THANK YOU
to all who came for this event!

and great shall be the peace of thy children."

August 10 Work Day

Excitement is building as Aim High gets ready
to move into its new home!
Saturday, August 10, was the first of two scheduled work days
to prepare the new building for September classes.

Furniture and other things needed to be moved
before cleaning and painting could begin.

Jennifer had a task for everyone!
Sondra and Bonnie did a great job cleaning the kitchen!
Cleaning the tutoring room.
Demolition on the sound booth was begun.

Meanwhile, in one of the preschool gyms:

Still a work in progress - but won't our preschoolers just love this gym???

So many light bulbs to change!

Who doesn't love an organized supply closet?

Little Maddie did some "pretend" painting.

And...at the end of the day...
things got a little crazy!

But seriously,
we were blessed to have so many
wonderful volunteers
show up and work so hard!
We appreciate each and every one of you!

Many thanks to Asbury Methodist Church,
Cornerstone Assistance Network,
Freedom Church of Owasso, and
theCHURCH.at (Battle Creek) for
sending groups out to help.

Our prayer is that God will be glorified in this place.
